The C-123 is a twin engine military troop transport and logistic cargo airplane.

A reconditioned C-123 airplane with modern turboprop engines fulfills a niche in both foreign military troop support/logistic missions and commercial air cargo operations.

Presently, the aircraft available for middle range and medium payload flights have excess capacity, and therefore are not cost effective. Small aircraft require multiple flights and therefore are also not cost effective. Mid-sized aircraft under development to accommodate approximately 20,000 pounds of cargo will have comparatively very high purchase prices. Originally designed as a troop transport/logistic airplane, the C-123T is ideal for many mid-range military and commercial cargo requirements.

The price of a reconfigured C-123T is less than one third of the closest competitor the C-27J which is under development by Lockheed Martin Alenia Tactical Transport Systems (LMATTS).
